Steve Dolins, CPA, focuses on client solicitation, public relations, advertising, billing and management as well as client accounting and taxes. He oversees the day-to-day operations of Dolins, Dolins & Sorinsky, Ltd. Steve is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Northbrook Continuing Professional Education group. Steve obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois carrying a double major in finance and accounting. In addition to his accounting degree and CPA certificate, he is licensed in insurance and in real estate sales. Steve's emphasis is in establishing long-standing relationships with clients. "If our clients are successful, we are successful," he says.
Jason C. Ewing, MBA, is Managing Director at Stevenson & Company, a mergers and acquisition firm founded in 1979. M&A assignments have included industries such as software, consulting, business services, telecommunications, engineering services, printing, distribution, staffing, custom design packaging, automotive, construction, specialty trucking, consumer products and specialty manufacturing. For his work with General Electric and Greenfield Commercial Credit, Jason was awarded a Collaboration Award from the Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries Association. Prior to joining Stevenson & Company, Jason worked for Chicago based Vcapital Inc., New York City based investment bank Jesup & Lamont, and for a Chicago based boutique investment bank focused on acquisition search, business sales of companies, and Asia related M&A. Jason's experience extends to the telecommunications industry, having worked for AT&T and served as General Manager for Frontier Communications (Fortune 500). Jason's hobbies include golf, triathlons, gardening, international travel and teaching private wine classes. He also volunteers for the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides four-year high school scholarships and educational support services to economically disadvantaged Chicago eighth grade students. Jason has an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois, major in Finance; and a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana.
Andrew W. Lapin, JD, is a business lawyer with Robbins Salomon & Patt, Ltd. in Chicago. His emphasis is in real estate, secured lending, franchising, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate transactions. Andy is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association (Real Property Committee, Real Property Finance Subcommittee and Commercial Finance Committee), the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Mortgage Attorneys Association and the National Association for Government Guaranteed Lenders. He lectures for the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL), teaches on "Closing and Funding the SBA Loan." and has also written a textbook by the same name. Andy has been recognized in Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in America. Chicago magazine designated him twice as an Illinois Super Lawyer, an honor given to the top 5% of attorneys in the state. Andy has also been recognized by the Leading Lawyers Network. Andy currently serves on the Executive Board of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) for the Greater Chicago/Upper Midwest Region and has previously served on the board of the American Society for Technion. Andy earned his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and his B.S. from Indiana University.
Rick Mazursky has over 35 years of experience in retail and consumer products. He has considerable experience in product design, marketing, merchandising and all forms of domestic and international distribution, particularly to the mass market. Rick also has extensive hands-on knowledge of product development and manufacturing in the Far East. Rick has had leadership positions in a number of companies involved in the creation and distribution of products to consumers including electronic educational toys, consumer electronics and soft ware. He was involved in the launching of Cabbage Patch dolls, partner in a toy company sold to a public company and served as President of VTech Industries, President of G.P. Toys and CEO of Digital Innovations. Rick has grown a number of companies to capture market share and attain profitability.
Rick has served on the following Boards of Directors: Vtech Industries, Inc., a top five toy manufacturer; G.P. Toys, The Toy Manufactures of America, a trade association; the Board of advisors of Leap Frog Enterprises, a top five toy manufacturer; The Midwest Toy Association; Digital Innovations; Neuros Technology; Raceline Motor Works. He has been inducted into the Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, sponsored by Arthur Andersen Enterprise Group; and has been nominated for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He has been awarded five U.S. Patents, with a number of patents still pending. Rick is President of PDQ Mazoo, a product realization company. The company provides its clients product services from creation through manufacturing. He is also a founder and coach at The Executives Profit a consulting company that focuses on coaching top management in various service and products industries.
Michael Moran is a Principal and First Vice President of American Chartered Bank, a $2.5 billion, locally owned, entrepreneurial-driven, commercial bank with 13 branches in the Chicago area. Michael has extensive commercial banking experience working with privately held companies, assisting them with various capital asset or real estate purchases, working capital financing, and cash management optimization. Michael enjoys sharing his broad network and entrepreneurial experience with clients providing a level of advocacy not experienced by most banking relationships. Michael's experience includes project management for large-scale software installations of financial reporting systems. Michael also co-founded Inclusion Solutions, Inc., a developer of disability access products for businesses. Michael has a Bachelors degree in Economics and Business from the University of Notre Dame, and a Masters in Management in Entrepreneurship and Marketing from Kellogg/Northwestern University.
Ben Reinberg, a founding principal in Alliance Equities LLC, has primary responsibility in the areas of underwriting, acquisitions, capital procurement and corporate management. Founded in 2001, Alliance Equities, LLC, is a full service real estate development and investment company. Alliance has developed and acquired industrial, commercial, retail and multi-family assets nationwide. Prior to forming Alliance Equities, LLC, Ben ran his own company, Hillcrest Trading, Ltd. Hillcrest acquired, managed, and sold over $110 million dollars of real estate secured instruments consisting of mortgages and trust deeds located in over 28 states. These investment instrument portfolios were collateralized by pools of residential properties, commercial properties and undeveloped land. Ben’s expertise in due diligence, risk analysis and acquisitions resulted in average portfolio returns in excess of 35%. Ben began acquiring real estate in the mid-1990s. His expertise includes multi-family housing, shopping centers, retail centers, land development, office buildings and industrial properties. Ben graduated from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business and is a certified public accountant. Ben is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Urban Land Institute. Ben is also an Illinois licensed broker. Ben has been retained by various companies for business, financial and real estate consultation. Ben and his wife live in Highland Park, Illinois and have three children.
Nancy Shaw, MBA, is Principal and Founder of Marketing Identities, Inc., an executive marketing coaching firm. Nancy's extensive marketing experience includes work for Kraft Foods, The Quaker Oats Company, and Johnson & Johnson. In her corporate roles she managed new product development, mergers & acquisition strategy, and established core businesses. In addition, Nancy has coached entrepreneurial to mid-sized firms from a vast diversity of industries, including human resources, retail, consumer packaged goods, education, nutraceuticals, information security, and management consulting. Nancy is also a trained facilitator for ideation sessions, competitive wargaming, and focus groups as well as a frequent speaker at industry seminars and client workshops on such topics as "Who Are You Really? Developing Your Integrated Marketing Identity;" "Reflect Your Customer: Fulfilling Unmet Needs," and "Jumpstarting Strategic Creativity in Your Company." Nancy earned her M.B.A. from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and received her B.A. from Harvard University.
